Well we haven't been able to get to the Convention either. We were hoping to get a transfer onto a flight tomorrow afternoon, but Easyjet have told us no flights tomorrow, so that's that!
So I am just sitting here thinking of the great time all the Bookcrossers are having, chatting and finally meeting people they have bookswapped with.

I noticed darkpunkangel's name on the list.

Butterfly-noir gave me her ticket so I will be going in 2 hours from now. My dad is bringing me. I will be staying till 5 pm which is a long time for me spending it with people I don't know. Hope I like it. .
I knew I would love it if giz sunny and all the people I met at the unconvention were there. it was so weir, we bookrelayers immediately clicked.

I'm back at my hotel after a day at the Convention. Lovely to see Marlene there and very unexpected. Such a shame some people didn't make it but spare a thought for those who did and now don't quite know how to get home.

Yes I am glad I did go. I met some people I had heeard about or know from the BC forum. Like wyando. a great guy and I also finally met Mojosmom! we had a nice chat about the museums she visited. I told her Milan will be here next week. Plus it was so nice to see candy is dandy again. last time was in Birmingham.

I did take books back but maybe not the best ones but hey, I am in need of more books to read now that swapping is out.
I am so tired now. wow.

Oh I also took with me a book which had small note on it it said: for intry. so I decided to take it with me. I am sure I will meet her again. B-)

I'm glad it was a great time for you Marlene and how lovely thing butterfly did (we here have a saying "until one gets into the dusk other will not enter the dawn").
I think I talked few times with mojosmom but I doubt she remembers me (is she from Chicago, IL?) and was swapping postcards with wyando (via postcrossing).
I do hope situation with the ash cloud will be over by 26th
Oh and Intry was mentioning some trip to the south of Europe so I might take that book for her

Was this only a 1 day convention. When I went in Toronto and Charleston it started Fri night and continued to Sun morning

No it started on Friday and finishes today.
Glad to learn that the 2012 will be in Dublin, we will try again to get to an International Convention.

Yes I think I'd like to go to Dublin. Love that city, love the bookstores and the shops. so great reason to visit this gorgeous city again.
I did find it weird that there was no competition. That Dublin was the only candidate for 2012 while for this year it was such a battle.
