I would love to join the swaps but am not sure when I should. Will there be an announcement when to join a swap or should I just go on the ones going now and say I want to join?

Each swap is announced in advance. Typically the thread will say "sign up". Right now we're organizing a cozy mystery swap and an excercise-themed swap. The sign-up thread will typically have all the information you need such as the genre and the start date.

Also, there's a monthly YBS (Yankee Book Swap) which starts on the 15th of each month. I'll post a sign-up thread around the 9th or 10th.

MOST swaps will allow someone to join even after the play has started. For the YBS swaps, I'll accept new players until the middle person has had a turn. So, assuming that we have 9 players when the swap starts, I'll still accept new players until after #5 has had a turn.

Just an FYI that I've noticed several swaps have not been posted into the Zoho data base, particularly the PUF swaps.

you can ignore most of what i just wrote below since I see this was addressed over in this thread.

I know this is way old now but just wondering if this ever got taken care of?

Lori, I noticed that you're currently one of our database admins so perhaps you can handle it if you haven't already?

Other admins include our current forum admins (CheesyGiraffe, Elsi, CdnBlueRose, giz-angel, fantasy221, and myself), as well as AceofHearts, Camis, LoriPed, MarleneTC (aka CrazyDutchWoman), Shaunesay, and Tribefan, and wss4. Any of the above peeps can enter swaps into the Zoho db.

It was discussed at one point by us admins if we should just ask the swap host to make sure their swap gets entered into the database, whether by doing it themselves or asking one of the other db mods to make sure it's done. That would at least provide some accountability if responsibility for updating the database is included as part of the swap host's duties. Ya think?
