BC guru's HELP!!

I totally messed up on a link I was putting on one of my books over at BC and now I can't fix it.

Here's the link: http://bookcrossing.com/journal/4908516

And here's what I did:

I was updating the journal entry so I would remember the book needs to go to AM for the Fort Holder's swap. 1/2 way through updating the link I forgot that I didn't copy the link from BO, so I *thought* I opened up a new window but my fingers got ahead of myself and accidently used the same window my book journal was on. Did I loose anyone yet? Then..I got the link, said to myself "Oh crap..I used that broswer window." Then opened up another window and wanted to click the "Edit journal" button at BC on the book, and it's gone. Well it's there..but when I click on it, it tries to open up BO.

So then I said to myself..I'll just do a new journal entry, but when I look at it, my new journal entry isn't written on the white part of the journal entry, it's written on the brown and 1/2 of it is covered by the BC advertisments.

HELP! Should I just delete the book and start over giving it a new BC number and everything? Or is there a fix that I am missing?

I know why this happened, I used the browser window without finishing my link to BO fort holders swap, but now I can't figure out how to fix it because the edit journal button is gone.

I see what's wrong but I have no idea how to fix it - sorry. Maybe you should delete this entry and start a new one.

I'd try to fix it myself first and failing that send the info to the support team and ask someone there to fix it for you.

Okay, now as to how to fix it. I did a view source and was able to determine the journal ID for your screwed up entry. I also see that it's missing the closing tag for the URL (a href) tag, which is what screwed it up. So here's the steps to try:

1. Go to http://bookcrossing.com/editjournalentr ... id_7982366 which should allow you to edit the first journal entry. (http://bookcrossing.com/editjournalentr ... id_8276048 to edit the 2nd one.)

2. Fix the URL in your entry by adding the needed closing tag </a>.

3. Save the journal entry and see if that fixed it. If not, you might have to edit the 2nd journal entry too.

I screwed up one of my journal entries royally once (so much so that I couldn't even go back and edit it to fix my mistake) - I messaged the support team, told them what I'd done, and they got it fixed for me quickly

Just in case any of you have problems like this again :)

Wow Cherie! I didn't see the mistake but well done on the fix.
I've only screwed up my bookshelf like that but figured out what was wrong eventually thanks to others.
