So, an update on my kid's reading.
Early in this swap some of you guys were reassuring me that my 10 year old would soon start to read something other than Wimpy Kid type books, books with lots of pictures. And by the end of the swap, he was reading a Morris Gleitzman book, and now he's reading a series by Erin Hunter about Warrior Cats, and at school he's reading Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick. I have no idea how it happened, but it happened.
And he's asking for Harry Potter to be our next read-aloud book. 
So thanks for the reassurances, everyone. I was prepared for it to take another year or two, but didn't have to wait that long.

No . Just enjoy the book babes. Glad all went well. Stop it.I am really glad that he is loving reading. I feel I have done all I could do with Rowena. When she was 1 year old I took her to the library weekly and the ladies there loved her so, they were always reading her stories. Later on we kept on visiting the library and she loved choosing books.
When she became 10/11 she had so many books I remember buying her books from Kate Mccan. When she was 12/13 I discovered bookcrossing and she began reading English! Mum was so proud but then....
when she turned 15 I think her phone became more important and still is.She stopped reading.
Now and then she whatapps me asking for a book, mostly for her friends but sometimes for her but I have accepted that she is not so much into reading as I alway was but i think her love for reading is still there and I am sure it will come back to her.
On the attic I have a beautiful bookcase. It is the biggest one in the house and it is filled with all her books.
