Nim, I went to the post office today, finally, and mailed a box to you. I can't remember how many books are in it, though, because I boxed them near the beginning of the month and then didn't have time to go. Maybe 6, I think.

another lfl opened up closer to my own University, so anything that doesn't get to the one near DePaul will get wild released into this new one hopefully.

I was happy to see the Cal & Nikos books as I just found book 4 in my tbr basket and it's been long enough I wanted to reread the books before it.
just an update.
i am in the process of putting together a little free library. It will hopefully be placed in either a community garden in a mixed income neighborhood, or a homeless shelter that serves families. This will be the culminating project of one of the classes I am taking this semester as a creative community based project to raise awareness for literacy especially in young children for families who can't afford to buy books.
Thanks to everyone who sent books. I have a ton of adult books ready to place when we get the library built and placed. I am however trying to collect children's books, and placed a Can you help post over on the bookcrossing forums.

What a fantastic project, Nim! What age range do you need books for? I have a copy of Ella Enchanted that needs a home, but I am certain I can find some books for younger readers if that's more what you're after.
I have been getting everything from board books to young adult fiction.zosime wrote:What a fantastic project, Nim! What age range do you need books for? I have a copy of Ella Enchanted that needs a home, but I am certain I can find some books for younger readers if that's more what you're after.
I have quite a few early chapter books and older but not so many picture books.
So anything would be welcome if you would like to contribute.
The library is going to be placed in a community garden in the Uptown neighborhood which still houses quite a few lower income families and individuals. the garden is actually located on the only block that African Americans were allowed to live on in the area when the city was still very segregated (in memory of the families who lived there).
