Cheesy - that's my problem. ButI find the books I put up are usually gone in a trice. My wishlist books.. not easily found (or if they do turn up gne before I get the notice they are available) Still I'd rather my books found a good home than languished somewhere unread. =)

Cee - I can see why your books would disappear quickly romance / chick lit are hot topics. =) moving again.. your done with your masters so quickly?

I have been on BookMooch for a couple of years or so and usually can list my books and send them off very quickly. I'm in the same boat as cheesy for finding ones, though.

I did find one yesterday that I've wanted for a long time. Actually, I found it 1 week ago but it was reserved for someone. That reservation expired yesterday and I was able to send the mooch request/reserve.
Today I got my answer: "sorry but I already promised it to someone"

if it was sent as a reserved request, how can it be promised to someone else? :sigh:
:scream:

When I list books on BookMooch or PaperbackSwap, I *tend* to list them both places. The books listed for trade at these sites are put into a plastic bag and set apart from the rest of my books so that I don't accidentally offer them in VBBs or swaps here at BookObsessed. They are still marked "available" on my BookCrossing bookshelf so if I get a request for one I can decide whether to direct the person to BM/PBS or work out a private trade.

Unfortunately, I seem to have mostly books that popular and not in high demand -- and the ones on my wishlist are more rare. Just my luck!

I list my books on both PBS and BookMooch, but the vast majority are requested through BookMooch. I am constantly shipping out books via BookMooch and occasionally through PBS.

I find that I like the wishlist feature for getting books via PBS because I know that I will get the books eventually no matter what. That is mostly what I use PBS for.

I find books to mooch more often on BookMooch but mostly I only mooch wishlist books, therefore I currently have in excess of 100 points on BookMooch. Someday I will get to use them. LOL

I was over on Bookmooch today and my wishlist has a new format. Now I can see how long the books have been on the list and there is a drop down menu next to each book. Makes deleting them easier!

I finally used up most of my bookmooch points on easy readers and children's books for my grandchildren. I gave up on getting anything I really want from there when they changed the notification to the "random" thing. I think I have 3 points left and three things ordered (promised to me for between 3 and 4 months ago!) I deleted my entire inventory and only have books to give away listed on PaperBackSwap. I'm dropping Bookmooch as soon as I use up the rest of my points. I just think PaperBackSwap is better supervised and works better in the long run.

I can understand giving it up! I don't bother adding books there because the postage is too high here and I don't think I have mooched anything for ages!

The only reason I still use it is for my wishlist. I just like the format.

I joined a couple of months ago. Going well so far - have sent 6 books and received 3. I have a question that I can't find an answer to on the site. I'd rather see if anyone here has an answer before diving into the forum there.
Most of the books I want to mooch are from people who have it set that "ask if I will send to your country". I just asked someone but the email has bounced back. When you ask someone if they'll send to you, does the book get reserved for you until you get a reply?

If you go through bookmooch's "ask", the book is reserved for some period (I think 7 days).

Thanks itpdx. I did think I'd seen that somewhere but then couldn't find it again so I thought I might have imagined it. Hopefully the person will look in on bm and see my message.
