Weirdly, it appears to only work for some themes. Using ZetaFree and Simple Blue - no numbers. Using Zeta Original - numbers.

Would some of the themes have disabled the list function? What an odd thing to do.
Joanna -- I don't think the theme would have disabled the list function. Rather, I'd bet that they use the same style for both OL (ordered list) and UL (unordered list) elements. If you have the ability to update the style sheets for these themes, you could just make these changes and then all themes would use numbers when the BB code requested it.
I do have the ability to edit the style sheets. (Notice the over/under mouseover in the Winter theme, courtesy of yours truly since the bold alone blended too much.)

Perhaps if Joanna can confirm which styles she is seeing them incorrectly in, I could verify this myself and (if necessary) edit the style sheet if they are indeed doing it incorrectly there. But since no one else seems to have noticed it, I'm not sure it's a style problem at all. Joanna, if you have a specific style name that you want me to verify, just name it. :)
I went through all the themes. It appears that numbers do not display in lists in the following themes:

Simple Blue
Sila
ZetaBB
ZetaFree

The numbers work in all the other themes (Dark Glass, Frostee, Soothe, ZBWinter, and ZetaOriginal).

Testing LIST code (so I don't have to look for other posts)

LIST CODE WITHOUT NUMBERS:
  • first bullet, but if there's no number assigned, can we really say it's #1? LOL
  • next bullet
  • hey, me too!
LIST CODE, WITH NUMBERS:
  1. this should be number 1. :yahoo:
  2. and number 2 stepping up. (I win the silver!)
  3. win, place, and SHOW!

ETA - Thanks Joanna! Since I don't really use many of those 4 themes you named above except for Sila (and I must not have come across any numbered lists while I was using it), I did not notice this, but have now confirmed from my end as well that none of the 4 you've named are displaying numbers when they should be.

The style sheets for these themes are pretty huge, and do have a couple of parts that get inserted in different places, but it is all editable, so though it might take me a couple days to track down where exactly the offending part is, I'll find the bugger and eradicate him! :fight:

If you look in the errors thread, she thinks it's what was causing errors for those using IE.

That's why I edited the top line of the To Do list for this thread (post 1, page 1) to read as follows:

the following third party scripts will be enabled and disabled over the next several weeks (Jan 10, 09) as I test for problems caused by an IE script error (see this thread in the Feedback forum):
limit signature images · BBCode in PM Quick Compose · Multi PM Recipients · Forum Jump Box

with all links intact of course :)

pay attention!! :whip:

I was wayyyy too busy when the forum changed to follow any of it, so only now am I catching up on this thread. The impetus was that I accidentally changed the "skin" or whatever it is, and was hoping to find out from here what the default had been so I could change it back. But so far in this thread it's been Frostee and Sila and something else and NONE of them seem right. Maybe I'll find out as I keep reading.

BUT the point thus far is I LOVE THIS ABOUT THE NEW SMILIES!! I had noticed that already and   :smooch:

Potok, zeta original is the default theme or skin as you called it. ;)

Now let me go check the spoiler

Jullie zijn gek :angry2:
Oh now a spoiler tag is coooollll. But it's not on the menu of obvious codes to click on, so it's good I copied Marlene's message.

And now (yes I'm a bit slow) I see the link to "Full BBCode List". Lovely. :spin:
