With Goodreads Swap closing, I'm looking for a new trading site.

I'm still a member of bookmooch and PBS, but I'd like one where I can more explicitly just buy books.

Books Free Swap looks sort of promising:

I like that the receiver pays the postage and it seems like the postage rates are pretty reasonable (the first one I ordered was $2.90 and it allowed me to look at the person's shelf to see if there were any others I wanted for, I think, $0.90 each). It does seem to charge a monthly fee of $0.25 for using the site, but if I'm ordering even one every other month or so, that's still less than buying credits at PBS.

Interesting... Have you given it a try? What do you think?

I've tried it and have gotten two books so far. No one has selected any of mine. My primary complaint is that it seems to require that I have five books listed as available if I want to complete a swap.

They don't mention labels or bookplates, so I'm thinking that would probably be okay, if it's not extra writing in margins, etc. I may try it for a few books that I want to move along but don't know anyone that I think wants them. Except that honestly it would be easier just to donate them in that case to my library for their sales, since we can't rack up points or anything towards receiving books.

I've sent one and received one now, and got a journal entry from the one I sent! It's not bad, I think I like the earning of credits from PBS better, but I'll probably continue to do this one as well.
