I have a friend who is desperate to get hold of a M65 (1965) military fishtail parka with a wolf hood in size S (small). Here in the UK they retail at about £160 ($230) and I was wondering if they would be any cheaper in the US - ie if I sent someone the money by paypal to get it and ship it over.

Does anyone have any idea about such things?

It's funny that every site I look at that has these US military jackets seems to be UK based. I would have no idea where to get one over here other than just looking online. If you can find a site that sells them cheap in the US, I'd be happy to be the middleman since I'm just across the ocean from you.

Giz - I just did a search and found one on Ebay for $60. And they say that they ship worldwide. I'll include the link, but just in case it doesn't work, the seller is "thecopshopus" (99.6% positive feedback)

Yes we do have Army Surplus stores here too.

I soooo wish you had posted this about a month ago though. I could of sent you one no charge except postage, if your friend didn't mind it being used , but still in very good condition.

My hubby is retired Army an had one exactly like that issued to him when he was stationed in Germany. He's been out of the military many years now and decided to give his away since he no longer wore it. We donated it to a clothing assistance store nearby.

Ak oh well never mind Bratty - I've sent her the link to the Ebay one that morsie found.

You pay for bulk. Nice warm parka like that proabalby ships in a fairly large box. A large lightweight package is usually a lot more expensive to mail than a small heavy one.

If you're paying that much for shipping, it had better show up fast! I paid that for the shipping of my wedding dress (another bulky package!), but it's 3-5 day delivery!

It's a lot cheaper to ship to Canada than to the UK, though.
