At first I worried about the fact you had to "borrow" the books, but then noticed they gave you 100 years worth of days before it is due, lol.nimrodiel wrote: ↑Jul 15, 2020Thanks for the reminder to check the Sora ap. I don't like this new distribution format at all. I miss the weekly emails about the offerings, and I miss being able to download the books to put on my MP3 player rather than having to use my phone.KathyB wrote: ↑Jul 11, 2020For those who like audios - Audiobook Sync is offering two Christmas themed books this week for free. haha I noticed that too. I understand the partnership with Overdrive to promote and use the Sora ap as that is a classroom program as well. I just feel it is limiting use to people with smartphones/tablets especially as this occurs during the summer when lower income children who have access to tablets at school may not have internet or a tablet at home. This is really noticeable these days as schools struggled to get distance learning to kids who didn't have computer access during the start of the covid-19 stay at home orders. My district gave out over two hundred chromebooks and wireless hotspots, and made the choice to let families keep them over the summer. Some school districts didn't and required computers to be turned in at the end of the school year...KathyB wrote: ↑Jul 15, 2020At first I worried about the fact you had to "borrow" the books, but then noticed they gave you 100 years worth of days before it is due, lol.nimrodiel wrote: ↑Jul 15, 2020Thanks for the reminder to check the Sora ap. I read about some districts doing that (both giving out and the taking away). My daughter bought a second computer and is planning on keeping her children at home this coming school year. I'll still be keeping them a couple of days a week and she and I have talked about how we will handle school time and play time. They are used to grandma letting them do most anything they want, but they are good kids and will probably take to a schedule pretty well. My son is not sure how he will handle the school year for his two. He is waiting to see how the district he lives in is going to handle it.nimrodiel wrote: ↑Jul 15, 2020haha I noticed that too.
