Bad news. since today I am getting errors only on this page and I am kicked off. The problem is they are in Dutch cause my xp is a Dutch copy.

It is the same problem people had on shelfari.

I wrote back then:

that they can't open the site. operation aborted.
when I click on OK , the only thing I can click on, I get The page cannot be displayed.

Others called it: a message that a server error has occured

It has happened to me already 3 times this morning.

Marlene, can you confirm if it happens with all the themes or only a particular one? I've been doing a lot of theme modifications for starters so that would be the first thing to verify, that I didn't screw up something in the style sheets.

Next test after the above. Try turning off signatures in your preferences and then come back to this page. Does it still happen?

And one more thing... when you say, "this page", do you mean the BookObsessed forum as a whole? Or specifically, page 8 of the BookObsessed Forum Conversion topic?

Okay it just happened. I was on another site and changed that one into bookobsessed.
I get the BO site for a few seconds then i hear a loud warning site. error tone and I get this website can't be shown. I click on the back button and then I can go on.

Okay, good to know it's not anything I fucked up on the scripts!

But as to why it's happening at all... I can't say that I've ever seen it before. And I don't recall the Shelfari issue. Do you remember that the resolution was there? Or perhaps it was just some kind of network overload thing that eventually straightened itself out?

Also, is it possible it has to do with all the signatures and stuff? I know that some were saying that those dragon eggs really slowed stuff down a bit. (See the post about signatures in the feedback forum.)

I thought about trying to limit the number of images a person places in their signature to cut down on such things but I didn't see such an option. There is an images per post option, but it doesn't relate to signatures; only thing I can do there is limit the length itself. And our 2000 character limitations is actually very generous, so perhaps....

Anyway, try without signatures on for awhile and see if it goes away. When you figure that all these signatures that come from offsite and from all these different places all load at once when the page loads... knowing networks, I'm actually surprised people stilll on dial-up aren't crashing out left and right!

I think I'm having the same issue as Marlene. It's not constant and so far I can't identify the cause. It's happening on at least ZetaFree and ZetaBB, but maybe in other skins too.

Operation aborted

I keep getting a "Internet Explored cannot open http://s14.zetaboards.com/BookObsessed/" and then it says Operation Aborted. Immediately after that it switches to a Page Not Displayed...so then you have to click to go back to the page.

This has been happening when going into the mail and switching between pages on the board

. Anyone else getting that??

Have either of you tried turning off the signatures and running like that for awhile to see if it still happens? Also Joanna, are you in IE as well?

I haven't been able to reproduce this at all, and I'm sure I've been loading and reloading pages just as much as any of you as I'm recoding styles and applying other fixes and such. But I also probably have a much faster internet connection than most (20Mbps with burts up to 30Mbps). I also use Firefox.

So someone please confirm if it's signatures. I've heard that these dragon egg thingies take up a lot of bandwidth (I suspect the images don't get cached as much as normal images do) and I noticed that on the page Joanna pointed to, there were plenty of them on there.
