Welcome to the December Round of the Everybook VBB!
The Rules:
(1) I will post a list of books and the order of the box participants on the first of the month.
(2) Each person may take as many books out of the box as they want; however, you must put in the same number of books. This means that you may be responsible for shipping the number of books that you have put in. You control how many books you are willing to ship by only taking out/putting in that number of books. Even if you drop out of the box, you'll still need to keep replacing your books until they've all been selected.
(3) If you are on the six-month list, you will be automatically skipped. If you were on the six-month list at the beginning of the round, but have cleared it before your turn, please post here to let us know not to skip you. If you have books to replace, I will PM/email you to remind you to replace them and you will need to do so some time during this round.
(4) Play may continue perpetually. You can choose to skip your turn by not taking any books out of the box and passing the turn on to the next person.
(5) The next round will begin on the first of the month following the end of play (e.g. If round 1 ends on Dec 30, round 2 will start on Jan 1. However, if round 1 doesn't end until Jan 15, round 2 will start on February 1).
(6) Every, any, and all books can be put in the box! Fiction, Nonfiction, whatever! However, any books not taken after 2 rounds will be replaced by the person who put the book in. (Asterisks are used to indicate how many rounds a book has been in the bookbox.) To Be Reads are okay but should be marked as such!
(7) You have 24 hours from the time the person before you posts their move in the thread to make your move. If you haven't made your move in that amount of time, you may be moved to the end of the list. If you don't show up at all for a round, you will be removed from the list for the next round. However, if you want to rejoin at any time, you will be free to do so. I know 24 hours is a fast time frame, but there are a lot of players in this box and we try to get through the whole list every month. Don't worry if you get bumped -- you'll still get a turn at the end of the round.
(8) New participants are welcome and can join at any time! If we are in the middle of a round, they will be added to the end of the list. If we are between rounds, they will be randomized into the list like everyone else.
(9) The list of participants will be randomized at the end of every other round.
(10) Once you've taken your turn, please PM and email the next person to let them know it's their turn. If you can't PM them for some reason, please say so when you post your move, so someone else can!
