I always get notified of this stuff even though my international shipping days are pretty much over ...

Here are the new rates (see page 2)

Postage for m-bags after May 12

and here's a different site for the new price groups (see page 7-10)

9-group country codes

Just an example: Australia's in price group 3 now so the 11-pound rate is $50.60 and each additional pound is $4.60. Not such a bad increase this year.

Am I not seeing it right, or are they offering two kinds again - International Priority Airmail and International Surface Air Lift?

I, and a few other people here, have found that the Priority Mail Flat Rate envelopes and boxes are wonderful things.

Depending on the size of the books, you can fit 2-4 books in the flat rate envelopes, which go for about $11, and I just send 13 books to Luckaye in the flat rate box for $35. The per-book mailing cost for that was $2.69 - only a few cents more than media rate. 4 books at $11 works out to $2.75, and even if you only fit two into the envelope, it's still only $5.50 a book, which is still better.

Yeah, it requires planning, and I've been giving my overseas friends lots of RABCKs, but I don't feel as bad spending $11 to mail 3 or 4 books as I do spending $8 to mail one.

So are the prices for M-Bags going up?
I can't find which category my country is in? (The Netherlands)
which number

I have been paying those rates for years now., same rates as the US people now also have to pay to send international. :pirate:
And I am sure it will go up every year. it does so here.

This year they have decided there is no surface mail outside of Europe so you play 7 euro for a very small book. which is 11 dollars. but most books cost 10 euros to send to the US or Brasil. anywhere outside of Europe.
15.66 US dollars

If I click on the first 2 links I can only save it to my hard disk

Never mind We are in Group 3

Huh what the hell? are we going from 31,35 dollars to 50,00 dollars?

You're in group 5, Marlene! So your m-bags are $33 to start. Australia (group 3) went up $1.10 (US) for the basic 11 pounds (from $49.50 to $50.60) and then 10 cents more for each additional pound (from $4.50 to $4.60).

I always pay attention to Australian rates 'cause I love Aussie books. They're hard to find here, but for $50 I could order the one I want most new from Hodder.

I know what you mean about non-US folks having higher expenses for a longer time. A guy from the Dominican Republic fussed at me today for complaining about higher gas prices because they've been over $2 a gallon there since the 1980's, he said.
