To make y'all feel more at home, I've enabled a couple more features we had over at the old forum: Titles and Ranks (pips)

Members with less than 5 posts will have a default title of 'Quiet Lurker'. After their 5th post, it'll change to 'Member'. After 20 posts 5 posts, you may edit your title yourself in your User Control Panel. (I can push this down too if you think... it does have to be at least 1 though.)

For now, the default Title for all the levels except <5 is simply 'Member'. Yeah, I guess my creative juices just weren't flowing tonight. Though I had begun to think along the lines of something like Book Newbie, Book Lover, Book Fanatic, Book Super Freak, etc. with each change in title coming with another pip. But I figured why bother if most people will edit their title themselves. *shrug*

But we're open to suggestions about default titles if you want to throw some out here...

In addition, as you post you'll earn pips, those little blue icons beneath your member title. You earn your first pip at 50 posts. After that, the levels are 150 - 300 - 500 - 750 - 1000 - 1500 - 2000 - 3000 - 5000 (with 5000 at 10 pips).

These numbers are all customizable, but they're usually set up like this for most forums, earning more quickly at the lower levels and then slowing down a bit as you get more posts built up. I don't know the exact numbers CR used, but they used a similar pattern.

I hope some of these things, plus the addition of a few more smileys I put back in the other day too, are beginning to make things feel a little more like home around here.

*Edited to change editing title yourself from 20 posts to 5.

Thanks Cherie, I love that part of the forum to :D

Was wondering if there was a way to get the location back? I might be the only one who likes this feature though .. haha! :pirate:

BTW I LOVE that we can use html code in our sigs again ... this is my fave sig and I hated not being able to use it when CR changed the forum last time.

I like seeing the location with the posts too, but the option to turn that on isn't available anywhere in the admin. I'll look around to see if it's something that can be enabled though because I found that really useful as well, esp during swaps to help you remember what time zone everyone's in.

ETA - Sand, keep your eyes open for this capability too, as I know you've been looking around in skins and mods. :)

Thanks -- everyone is doing a terrific job and this is starting to feel like home.

I'd like to add that I'm another one who really likes to see location so if it becomes available, that would be awesome.

Again, many thanks for all the hard work.
