To make y'all feel more at home, I've enabled a couple more features we had over at the old forum: Titles and Ranks (pips) ![]()
Members with less than 5 posts will have a default title of 'Quiet Lurker'. After their 5th post, it'll change to 'Member'. After 20 posts 5 posts, you may edit your title yourself in your User Control Panel. (I can push this down too if you think... it does have to be at least 1 though.)
For now, the default Title for all the levels except <5 is simply 'Member'. Yeah, I guess my creative juices just weren't flowing tonight. Though I had begun to think along the lines of something like Book Newbie, Book Lover, Book Fanatic, Book Super Freak, etc. with each change in title coming with another pip. But I figured why bother if most people will edit their title themselves. *shrug*
But we're open to suggestions about default titles if you want to throw some out here...
In addition, as you post you'll earn pips, those little blue icons beneath your member title. You earn your first pip at 50 posts. After that, the levels are 150 - 300 - 500 - 750 - 1000 - 1500 - 2000 - 3000 - 5000 (with 5000 at 10 pips).
These numbers are all customizable, but they're usually set up like this for most forums, earning more quickly at the lower levels and then slowing down a bit as you get more posts built up. I don't know the exact numbers CR used, but they used a similar pattern.
I hope some of these things, plus the addition of a few more smileys I put back in the other day too, are beginning to make things feel a little more like home around here.![]()
