The book I'm waiting on is My Favorite Witch from nan1970.
Cats, the book is still in the database - look under "All Books History" - sort by either your name as recipient or nan1970 as sender and you'll see it there as Owed. The reason you aren't seeing it elsewhere is because nan1970 disappeared and remaining books owed by people MIA have been placed in HOLD status because there were so many appearing on the 6 month list that it was difficult to sort out which active members should be there. If any of those people reappear and send books out, we'll take the HOLD status off. Somewhere back in this thread, there was some explanation about this if you want to look back and read more.... but, definitely the book is still in the database, you just have to look at things from a different angle to find it.
OK. History is the only place I didn't look. I guess I'll write that one off.

Thanks.

Cherie, has there been any response to what you posted in the forum? I still cannot get into the database, which means that if I miss adding a book to my list, it's not going out as I can no longer check my list against the database, or against Shaunie's swap site or the VBB out of play threads I used to double check against.

ETA: I don't mean I will intentionally not send books out, but sometimes I forget to put them on my spreadsheet... and I currently don't have any resources I can double check my list against, which I used to do about once a month or so.

I haven't checked back on that thread, but I also haven't gotten anything in my email and I believe it was a thread I subscribed to so it should email me if there's been anything new added.

Anyway, I believe there has been some improvement in the speed so I suspect with your issues, it's probably all in the javascript that the new layout is using. I recall you said that if your firewall is turned off, it works okay, right? Obviously we don't want to work with your firewall turned off, but is there a way for your firewall to show what it's blocking on a particular site? The new database relies much more heavily on javascript than the original database did so perhaps your next test could be telling your firewall to allow all javascript for that particular site?

java or javascript? I mentioned javascript, but you're saying java. They're 2 very different things.

All my mobile code control (including JavaScript) is turned off, which means that it's not blocking any JavaScript.

ETA: And I got on the laptop and I can't get in from that computer either.

the testing tab doesn't work for me. Neither does swap participants, or the private-all books.
