that would be because of the problem you mentioned to me before, which you later said was fixed so I'd dropped the issue with support.

I'll see if I can find the past correspondence about it, or else will have to just open up another ticket. (may need to get your user/pass from you again to have them confirm it as this was only reproducible in your account. too bad it didn't fix itself with the upgrade to v3.)

I'm pretty sure it was never fixed. I just stopped saying anything about it.

Hm.... the database has always displayed in swap date descending order for me - suddenly tonight it's in alphabetical order by name of swap/vbb/etc..... and when I try to resort it doesn't change anything....

Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah, it changed the default view for me too. To change it back, group by date (decending) and then group by swap name. I don't know how to change the default though...

Damn. I am not a happy camper. Just added all the VBB books. Not a problem.
Now I wanted to check the mailed books cause I know a lot have arrived.

The first one I clicked on had indeed arrived so I wanted to set it as received but I was not allowed. And yes I am logged in. Not talking about my own books. I can try that cause 2 have arrived. (oops can't check cause the people who got it have already set it as received :) )

Public, you are not authorized to edit this record

Failed to update data
:erm:

ETA: 2 hours alter. I did not change anything. Was still using the same screen and now I could update again. Guess it was something intern

Glad to see you're all set now. :)

(The initial error you received would tend to indicate that you weren't logged in, thus it sees your username as Public instead of MarleneTC. Even if you said you were, perhaps it was a transient thing due to some slight maintenance they were doing.)

Okay I have another request Cherie.

It is again? about the way the private books are now set.

Lately I try to add the books out of play even before the rounds are finished cause a lot of the vbb's end about the same time plus it is handy for me.

Now what is annoying: Let's say I add 20 books now. some of those were mailed and some received.

If I come back tomorrow to add all those books to non private I have to go over all those tabs instead of how it used to be, one click. Now I have to go and find the private owed mailed/private owed received etcetera. It would be much handier if I can see all the private books at once. :)

Is there a way i can change those settings back to how it used to be?

and next time the other thingy happens. I will just wait a bit.

Why can't you just use the All Books tab to do this? By using the Search fields and putting in the Swap or VBB name there, you'd pull up all the records in a single view, no matter whether they're mailed or not. Now you can do a single bulk edit changing Private to Public.

The other way you're suggesting to switch back to, you're still working with 3 different views as opposed to one. The way I'm recommending above would be much more efficient as opposed to making the illogical leap back to all the privates on their own tab.

When I go to the database now and filter by my name as the sender, the books are sorted by Swap Name rather than by date.

But when I click on the Swap Date column to sort, it doesn't actually re-sort them by date -- it acts like it will (there's a little please wait pop up), but then nothing happens. I then have the option to "remove sort," so clearly the db thinks it's done something, but my view hasn't changed.

Is this something to do with my browser or firewall or is this a more universal problem?

ETA: Nevermind. I figured it out -- I need to sort by "group" rather than regular sort. The regular sort seems to only sort within each swap rather than across the different swaps.
