It is again? about the way the private books are now set.

Lately I try to add the books out of play even before the rounds are finished cause a lot of the vbb's end about the same time plus it is handy for me.

Now what is annoying: Let's say I add 20 books now. some of those were mailed and some received.

If I come back tomorrow to add all those books to non private I have to go over all those tabs instead of how it used to be, one click. Now I have to go and find the private owed mailed/private owed received etcetera. It would be much handier if I can see all the private books at once. :)

Is there a way i can change those settings back to how it used to be?

and next time the other thingy happens. I will just wait a bit.
Why can't you just use the All Books tab to do this? By using the Search fields and putting in the Swap or VBB name there, you'd pull up all the records in a single view, no matter whether they're mailed or not. Now you can do a single bulk edit changing Private to Public.

The other way you're suggesting to switch back to, you're still working with 3 different views as opposed to one. The way I'm recommending above would be much more efficient as opposed to making the illogical leap back to all the privates on their own tab.
Ah thanks babe.
I have not come across this problem much because mostly I add the books when VBB's are done and can put them on public immediately.

Because some vbb's have so many books out of play. 40 to 50 it is handy to add them when i have time or feel like it even if it has not ended.
I will give your way a try. Did not know that.

Well I am trying your tip but when I use the VBB name in the all books search field (and I even copied the correct VBB name) nothing comes up.

The default sort issue has now been sorted out. It was on their end and they've now fixed it.

Really? I just tested it and it works fine for me. Leave the operator at Contains instead of changing it to something else. It's not even case-sensitive so, for example, if I put everybook vbb in search box for Swap Name, then I get every single transaction (Owed, Mailed, Received, or On Hold) that has that phrase anywhere in that field.

If you change the operator text from Contains to Is then you're going to have to make sure you have everything exact, and even an extra space before or after the name will screw it up. I suggest using Contains unless you've got a specific reason not to as it's much more flexible.

How weird. I did not change anything. Just added the swap name which I'd copied the second try and did not get any results.
Will try again. :)

But a new problem .
Not that it is very bad.(I know I had the same issue yesterday)
I go and add a book. then you see it is loading but suddenly it stops. No the book was added message. You don't get the add book with a clean sheet but still will see the latest stuff you added. So of course you click again. Then it does go as it should and it says the book is added and you get a fresh browser where you can add the book info.

So I noticed I had added all the books twice. It is not a big deal cause i just go to all books and in one go delete all the doubles, but it is weird.

I'm guessing that you see weirdness which straightens itself out when they're changing or fixing something. Since they tend to think U.S.-centric, they do any such changes off-hours for us, which is often your prime working time. Just a guess of course, but it totally ties in.

Okay - I probably have no right to ask this, since I'm not the most timely sender either and I know there are folks who are owed way more books than me, but...

When a person goes on the naughty list do they get any communication asking them to get their act together? I have a number of people who owe me books from as far back as mid 2007 and I never see them here anymore. In the past I'd send an email asking them what was up, but I don't want to do that if they are getting reminders from someone else.

Is there a point when we just write them off. I guess I need to do that in order to stop holding bad feelings toward people. Can I gve you a list that I assume I will never get so we can remove them from the books due to me?

I'd say there's no hard and fast rule that every person is handled the same way every time. In some cases, one of the mods may well have been in touch with that person, but in other cases, maybe none of us nor anyone else in the forum has heard from them. It's hard to give a general answer to that question when it's more on a user specific basis.

You can see some of our progress and attempts to contact people on the General Naughty List posted in the Overdue Obsessors forum. Often when people are not heard from as long as 2007, they'll be on that list with some additional notes. You can find that forum here.

If this doesn't necessarily answer your question, or you don't see any of the people that owe you books on the pinned naughty list for being MIA, feel free to direct your specifics to one of the mods or admins.

I do think this i a good question.

When I pm someone you can always check cause I will write a note in the note field with the book on zoho with the date that I pmed them..

I do think that people should first try to contact the one you get the book from themselves. Then if you do not get a reply and they are not on the list, you could pm one of the mods see if they know more and if there are other people waiting for books.

so I agree with cherie right?

I guess what I'm saying more than anything is that I REALLY don't think I will be getting books from a half dozen people and want to get those books off my list so I can quit harboring ill will everytime I look at Zoho. I'll pm with the list of names/books. Thanks.
