I usually don't list anything at BookMooch until I need credits there because I prefer PBS. I've started using goodreads bookswap too, have "bought" one book off there, and have just had my first request to send. They're a little different though, the requestor pays for postage, and sender gets 1 book credit for every 10 books they send, which sounds kinda cheap, except that you're not paying any postage, so we'll see. Maybe good for bookcrossing books (and they have a place to list the BCID for it) that some people feel uncomortable putting on Paperbackswap. Though honestly I don't have that problem. But I know some people don't like it if others do that with their BC books, since it seems like they're being "sold".

I prefer to give the book to someone who will read it -- BookObsessed is my first choice, then PBS & BookMooch. I don't like wild releases because I'm so afraid that the book would wind up in the garbage. Rather than wild releasing at a random location, I'm more likely to drop a book off at an OBCZ.

I used to think my books were getting tossed (I even got a finder saying they had found the book tossed on their lawn next to their garbage can which was out for pick-up the next day). But I've had books check in after being out in the wild for months with very happy finder's notes.

I just try to remember to keep wild releases appropriate. The sci-fi book at the game shop is good, but remember they sell some books in that genre there too. Leave it on the free brochure shelf by the door and double check with the guys at the register that it isn't a title they are selling (I love leaving older sci-fi and fantasy there for this reason). The book is being released outside. Please remember to bag it. Ect.

I got really into wild releasing after winning one of the first tiara drawings over on bookcrossing. I had so much fun trying to find themed releases to books. The last couple of summers I set books free at cons which was kind of neat. Most days I leave books in the free paper box outside mt train stop. I've had a really good return journal rate from there.

I just listed a bunch of books over on bookmooch because my to give away box was getting rather full.
