This week has been very hectic. I have been running errands for myself and for some friends who need help.
I had 2 meetings cancelled, one was after I arrived at the meeting location. I had 3 Zoom meetings and 1 Zoom class.
On Friday I met up with a friend after about 7-9 months so we had loads to catch up on, and Friday night I helped a friend prepare care packages that she and her group hand out to the needy. Yesterday my parents called from Greece to tell me that one of my uncles passed away. I am very thankful that I was able to visit him this summer. His passing was unexpected. Today I attended a memorial for my aunt who passed away last month and then our church had a general assembly.
I came home around 4:30 pm with a large coffee, sat in my chair, and dozed off for about 2.5 hours. I am now wide awake while not having drunk the coffee. I am not sure if I am tired or wired!
My! You have had quite a week! I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your aunt and uncle. It was nice that you got to spend time with your uncle before he passed.
I've been very neglectful of my reading this week. I usually read after I've gone to bed, but find myself falling asleep quickly. My poor cat has learned not to cuddle next to me when I have my Kindle out because, most likely, I will fall asleep and drop it on her. World of Warcraft has added some new material and I can't listen to my audiobook while playing (which is what I usually do) because I'm having to read up on what is going on and what I am supposed to be doing.
We attended one of my grandson's Band Christmas Concert. Somehow, I don't think "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" was meant to be played by a marching band. They were sitting, not marching, but I'm sure you get the idea. We picked one of my daughters up at the airport yesterday. She was flying in from Oregon to spend Christmas week here. Today is dessert baking day. My granddaughter and I will make the desserts for tomorrow night's family Christmas get together. So, I'm afraid not much reading will be getting done,
Still reading "Christmas Magic" and still listening to "Accidental Alchemist."
My Kindle was out of juice last night so I finished reading "World of Warcraft Mage" by Richard Knaak. I started reading it before the RAT. I started reading "World of Warcraft Ashbringer" by Micky Neilson.
Finished my "short book that I read while waiting for appointments" while waiting for over an hour for a doctor's waiting room. It was a good little romancey read about a search for a rare book.
I totally wigged out and haven’t posted. But I have been reading.
Finished The Wedding People and loved it. Also Kill for Me Kill for You. Great book.
Read The Last Town to finished up the Wayward Pines trilogy. Not my usual but liked it.
Needed something easy so listened to Return to Virgin River.
And finished up with One Summer in Savannah. So glad I got the ebook after dnfing the audio
Then listened to Just for the Summer to complete the Part of your World Series.
Next up was Still Beating which was intense in the first half and meh for the second half
Next another light read The Country Guesthouse.
Read Vermillion Drift (Cork O’Connor #10) and loved it. Great series if you haven’t tried it.
Currently reading Kinfolk by Sean Dietrich for January book club and so far liking it. And listening to The Indigo Girl by Natasha Boyd.
Big update.
Work has been crazy. Not a nurse I’m the patient relations coordinator so basically the complaint department. And really anything else that comes up. It’s a very small hospital so we do whatever is necessary. I clean rooms and transport patients and talk to families about end of life care and on and on and on. I deal with the best and worst. It’s exhausting. But I’m off until January 2. My son and grands are visiting and we are having a great visit. Probably won’t get much reading the next few days though.
Sorry to hear about the non profit issues. Hopefully it settles without too much harm.
Okay folks, I haven't forgotten about you. However, the end of the semester was kind of crazy and I haven't really wanted to turn on my computer for the last 2 weeks. Also, we've been dealing with some health issues for my husband and every time I sit down I have to get up to deal with something. I have been reading. I will update my list when I have some time during my lunch break.
