I liked the Retrievers series!

These are the books I finished since my last report:

Love at First Psych by Cara Bastone
Jingle All the Way by Debbie Macomber
Fatal Storm by Carrie Vaughn (short story)
Booked for the Holidays by Liz Maverick
All I Want for Christmas by Maggie Knox

That makes 35 as my total reading in 2024.

I am currently reading:

Not Another Christmas Rom Com by A.J. Pine
Charmed Waters by Carrie Vaughn (short story)
The Sound of Sleighbells by Janet Dailey

I will not finish any of those tonight.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🍾

Somehow I have read the Paranormal Scene Investigation spin off series but not the Retrievers series. I'm enjoying it so far.

first book finished this year:

When Stars are Scattered by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed

A very moving look at life in a refugee camp. A biographical/autobiographical graphic novel.

Second book finished before bedtime:

Bring it on by Laura Anne Gilman

Third book in the series, it's starting to really dive into the political aspect of the magical society between the two types of magic users: the lonejack community and the council led community.

It is a paranormal urban fantasy series rom the early 2000's by Laura Anne Gilman. It was originally published by Avon's Luna Press and has recently been rereleased as a self published series (I purchased book one and it was a print on demand copy as Tribefan had sent me book two before she moved). It's set in New York City, and there are Talents (magic users), the fatae (magical non humans) and Null's (no magic humans). The Magic system in it uses energy from electricity.

There's a very slow burn romance in it, but it is more focused on the politics of the magic community. The Main character is a retriever (a professional thief/finder of things).

Oooooh! She is the one who wrote the "Devil's West" series. I LOVED that series. I will have to give The Retrievers a try - thank you!

Happy New Year!

I think I have read everyone’s posts..
Is anyone game to continue through until 31 Jan?

I’ve been sick and mostly trying to heal up and thus slept a lot.  My holidays were VERY quiet.. except of the parties my neighbors threw (noisy but fun sounding).  I spent new years day cuddled up with the paws and attempting to watch an episode of a K-Drama amidst falling asleep frequently.

I hope everyone had a happy and (hopefully) healthy holiday with family and friends. =)

All these books look v. good.

Lemmy, So sorry to hear about your Aunt and Uncle, However I’m also glad you had a chance to see him (somewhat) recently.

Kathy - WoW game  I don’t have a gaming console, but would like to hear about this. Tech/falling asleep/ pets — yeah I dropped off and dropped the iPad on Dash about a week ago..he now stays out of the line of fire (so to speak).  otoh they seem to like the audio books/dramas I play on the phone (which isn’t I’m my hands..so they will snuggle) :D

I have Devil’s West #1 here in the tor needing to be read. =)

I did get through a book called History Smashers #1 The Mayflower surprisingly good Y/A book.

ok.. i’ve been reading and trying to type for an hour..now Ollie and Dash are both here urging me to go take a nap..  and I have things to do today. *grf*

ok let me know about the extension..and I’ll be back after a nap and some direly needed task accomplishments.

I have those sitting on my TBR pile as well

Also, because she is rereleasing the older books it looks like all six are available digitally, but if you want print copies you might have to buy the older ones used (what I ended up doing)

I got into them in 2010 and finished the series in 2011. I was lucky to have gotten them on Audible, and they were so very good to listen to!
