Well we are apparently going to be nearly 100 again here today from the latest report, so I'm breaking down and turning on the a/c in a few minutes.  Mind you the paws have already assumed their flat cat positions for the day (which they did just before 7am when even I could start to feel the heat begin to come up again). Admitted it is July, but it's usually not quite this hot here.      Not complaining, we aren't as bad as much of the rest of the country / world.  It's just hard to get anything done while it's so hot! (plus my poor ol' puter doesn't work well in high heat!)  that said it will be nice not to be bathed in sweat all day.

Lemmy - I heard about your Tornado.  Glad your ok.. it's been wild weather everywhere.

I hope all of you are staying hydrated and cool.

I will be back with an update too, after I"ve gotten some work and etc done.

Our AC is doing overtime too. My husband walks 6 miles every morning - early like 5:00 in the morning and he came home yesterday with his shirt totally soaked. It's bad this year, even for Texas.

"Tornado Day" was incredible. I have never seen something like that here before. Trees were broken and we have been seeing branches on the street all weekend. People reported lawn furniture flying around. It rained and rained and rained. Torrential rain that flooded all the underpasses in the city and I don't even remember how many homes in total. The power went out. I was lucky to get mine back within 30-45 minutes but at least 400 000 home were without until the next day.

Currently it is 82-85F but with the humidity we are told "it feels like" 94F.

This Friday I am flying to Las Vegas for our yearly convention. I'll be there until Sat. July 29. I am told that it will be hot hot hot but that doesn't bother me so much because it is a dry heat. Last year in Orlando was unbearable.

Currently Reading:
I need to choose a physical book or an e-book...

my outside thermometer read 104 at 430pm.  But it isn't humid like back home.. and I didn't turn on the ac after all..  so now it's miserable as the building heats up..and there is no evening breeze tonight. *grf*     Nothing like Texas (which gets weather like back home..)   deeply humid and unrelenting summer heat.. major reason why I moved.   only problem is I register humid..not hot usually. even now.  it's an issue.

Part of my work exploded.  as in someone (not me) got a real reality check by promising things we actually can't afford to deliver... and now I have to find a way to cash it.  By morning. In full.   I'm going to be up most of the night trying to figure this out.  Honestly.. this is   *stops venting*

So I'll be back after a while.. and some sleep once I've sorted this debacle out with an update.    Stay cool everyone!

Ok, so its been hectic here and we've had some strange weather recently as well. Kiri, a tornado touched down near O Hare airport last Thursday, along with in some of the Southern Chicago suburbs, and evidently I slept through a tornado warning storm on Friday evening.

I read a couple of graphic novels.

Adventures of Tin Tin The Red Sea Sharks
Independence Day Dark Fathom
Deathlok book 1 of 4
Nightlights by Lorena Alvarez

Still reading First Sister and Listening to The Rhythm of War

I finished "Lighthouses of the Pacific Coast" today. Usual book with a page about each lighthouse, but this one also included a lot of information about lighthouses in general - like pets, women lighthouse keepers, logs, fog horns, etc. Very interesting stuff!

Still listening to "How to Sell a Haunted House" and I'm about half-way through "Multitude of Dreams"

I was in Las Vegas for our convention from July 21 to 29 and when I woke up on the 30th I had a sinus cold that knocked me out. I am feeling much better now and can get up and about.

I finished Demons of Good and Evil and am starting Christmas Every Day by Beth Moran.
