What was I doing wrong?
NO idea. But I did use the link icon for placing the url here. It worked.. I was thinking something might have been mis-formed with the url ( it wasn't..) so maybe your interface is being snarky?
Finished listening to "The Benevolent Society of Ill-Mannered Ladies" by Alison Goodman. The narrator was excellent, but I felt the book was too long. The story was good, even though at times very depressing, but I felt it could have been over in 10 hours rather than 15. Not sure I'll get the next book in the series when it comes out.
I have been so busy the past few days so haven't had a moment to check in. I finished off the year by finishing Brisinger by Christopher Paolini.
I am currently listening to the audiobook of Inheritance by Christopher Paolini and reading Four Ways to Wear a Dress by Gillian Libby

tl;dr skip this one.. with speed.
Gave 1 star.. for mostly accurate spelling. This is horrible. awful... I feel for the trees that were sacrificed for this hit piece. This author is doing a brit media hit on the subjects and grinding someone's axe. It's not even subtle. I'd have given a half star for any subtlety. Her sources (I've lost count of them) are often hazy.. or truly undetermined. In terms of Megan I could let it go.. but the other two? no. In all fairness that insular "we hate american women who turn up and steal out princes/kings or dares date them" theme running through it was distinctly off-putting. It also makes me somewhat concerned for the average Brit who seems to be of an insular viewpoint (think Brexit) in regards to the fact there is are other nations who are part of the Commonwealth. But thankfully she only gave off that vibe for herself and her colleagues / cronies and I hope it is not widespread.
In Progress
Oath and Honor by Liz Cheney
Ms. Cheney is a surprising good narrator. This is also v good so far. I don't agree with her on many things, but she is earning some respect from me.
Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie
following up after listening to Endgame also * (see below)
The Killing in the Consulate by Jonathan Rugman
Interesting but dense with info. Good narration.
The King’s Grave by Corrie James
She is vaguely annoying and smug so far. I think this needed better editing tbh but I forge onwards. I want to know about the topic
Jupiter’s Travels by Ted Simon
Just begun.
Still Just a Geek by Will Wheaton
Wil. Nuff Said. =)
* My Mom asked me to keep up on the Royals.. (Harry, Wil, etc) she was always interested in them. She got me up in the wee hours to watch Diana's wedding when I was a young teen. So I'm keeping my promise .. although after some of these this year, I will be much more careful picking things. There seems to be a large amount of trip out there. *sigh*

I am a big fan of British Monarch history. I used to read all the books I found (both fiction and non). I got up to watch the weddings of Diana and Sarah. My sister and I loved the fashion and pageantry and would gift each other books and have major discussions. I miss my sister. She died of cancer several years ago. I've moved on to other interests and still read a bit of news now and then, but not with the enthusiasm I used to have for the subject. I refuse to read "Spare".
I've read "Still Just a Geek". Wil is by far one of my favorite book narrators and a lot of times I get a book by an unfamiliar author because he is reading it.
I've thought about getting "Oath and Honor" by Liz Cheney. Maybe after reading/listening to more of the mountainous TBR I've got.
I finished "Slay Bell Ring" by Karen MacInerney last night. It was more like a short story than a short book. It was in e-book form and when I got to about 50%, the book was over and a "sneak" preview of another book started. I don't really feel like it was enough book to warrant the $2.99 I spent on it. It was a good little Christmas cozy, just very short.
I am reading "Kneading to Die". It is the first in a series by Liz Mugavero who is a new author for me. I'm about 60% through it and it is good so far.
I'm listening to "The Invisible Library" by Genevieve Cogman. I listened to it back in 2016, but decided to get the next book in the series, so I'm having to refresh my memory by the re-listen.

I watched Sarah's wedding with Mom too. Diana's funeral, I recall the utter silence - you could hear the flowers hitting the hearse. Then of course the other weddings and etc.. She made me promise to watch Charles' coronation. Which I did. I think she was interested because Queen Elizabeth looked like my grandmother (they looked almost identical in pictures tbh - but my grama was prettier, taller, and a few years older). It's a family in joke in my mom's generation. After my grama passed, it was kind of nice to see the Queen occasionally for that reason. I do have Spare, I've only listened to a few chapters, it isn't bad - his voice is pleasant, but I can only take so much Royal stuff overall.I am a big fan of British Monarch history. I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I understand from this perspective how it is. I miss talking to my Mom.. about so many things.
I've started doing that. I picked up Starter Villain by Scalzi cause Wil is the narrator. I was NOT disappointed.I've read "Still Just a Geek". Wil is by far one of my favorite book narrators and a lot of times I get a book by an unfamiliar author because he is reading it.
I would encourage that. This one seems important to hear/read. She highlights things from her view from the non-cheap seats, and inner Congressional workings, along with giving some of her (and her Dad's and Mom's) history. With everything going on (esp the mis0-information flying) I think it should be something people hear. I think one of the more salient points (plural) she makes is discussing the behavior of several Congresspeople that unless you are actively tracking those members you are not likely to know they've done certain things, or voted certain ways, or well believe some things and will act on them. She wrote this before the speakership debacle of a month or so ago - and yet has insight into the players. She's even handed, not saying she doesn't have bias - but she acknowledges it and present this info for the benefit of the American People. As I said she's gained some respect from me..something she did not have before.I've thought about getting "Oath and Honor" by Liz Cheney. I've noticed this happening with several novella/short books. I have to wonder if the author does it or there's an editor who slams thee things together to increase revenue.about 50%, the book was over and a "sneak" preview of another book started. I'm going to look at your last two. I've had the Invisible Library on my TBR for a while. I'm trying a new tactic this year from whittling my TBR pile. LOL with luck it'll work..
if not well.. An online friend was talking about The Dark Is Rising series a few weeks ago, and I purchased ebook copies of the books as my library only had audiobook versions and my paperbacks are packed up in storage.
I started Reading Over Sea, Under Stone and was reminded of how much I love this series from childhood.

I finished listening to A Christmas Promise by Anne Perry on December 31.
It was ok. I needed something short to listen to while I was on the road. These three days I didn't read anything but I will be starting one of the Sandra Brown books on my shelf tonight, thought I don't know which one yet.
Happy New Year everyone!

I got down to the last 3 minutes of listening to "The Invisible Libary #1" yesterday and my husband came in to tell me something. He left, I turned back on the book and my sister called me. Then after I turned it back on and my children started arriving for my husband's birthday. So FINALLY this morning, I got to listen to the last 3 minutes! I have book 2 and will start it this morning.
