I got down to the last 3 minutes of listening to "The Invisible Libary #1" yesterday and my husband came in to tell me something. He left, I turned back on the book and my sister called me. Then after I turned it back on and my children started arriving for my husband's birthday. So FINALLY this morning, I got to listen to the last 3 minutes! I have book 2 and will start it this morning.

LOL  I hear you!  Glad you finished.   How was the audio?  I ask cause I'm trying to move to more audios when I'm doing other things (like cleaning).  I will say I have better success with Audio Dramas and Graphic Audio formats than straight narration. Aside from certain narrators (Wil Wheaton for ex.) I have a tendency to fall asleep if I sit down and relax for even a few minutes - which is a problem.   When you are done laughing (and I find it amusing..most of the time) I think it is because it is associated with being read to as a kid before bed.
I've started to schedule my "reading" hour.. I even turn my phone off.  Otherwise it's always interruption after interruption when I need to listen to what I'm hearing*..   Although I do listen to audio or podcasts while I exercise / do my daily walk.    I am reconsidering the one book podcast I started listening to last year as it tends to ADD a book or two to my TBR every other month or so.

*I have some podcasts I listen to but can ignore (if needed) for a bit if interrupted.

The narrator of "The Invisible Library" is one of the main reasons I decided to listen to it again. She narrated "The Ill Mannered Ladies" and did an awesome job (long, drawn out book, but the narration was really good).

I tend to fall asleep when reading, so that is why it takes me so long to read a real book or ebook. I've fallen asleep and dropped my Kindle on my poor cat more times than I like to think about. She has gotten used to it and now tries to sleep well away from me when she sees it in my hand.

I thought of you Kiri when I saw this today. Don't know if you will be able to see it since it has me logged in, but Audible has a selection of short stories to help you go to sleep. It does pretty much sound like someone reading an adult child a story before bedtime.  Audible Sleep Collection

One audio down!!!  B)

While Idaho Slept: The Hunt for Answers in the Murders of Four College Students
by J. Reuben Appelman
Gary Bennett (Narrator)

The narration was good on this.  The content was just ok.. It was mostly about the victims background and how they got to that night, also how their families are coping and trying to move forward in various ways.  There is a VERY short bit on the accused murderer who has yet to see trial.  Some of the sources used are VERY dicey imo.   I was hoping for more* actual crime detail and how it has gone about being solved and what is happening in the justice process.   *more than what you get in the enquirer tbh..    I was left with .. why did you even bother - you haven't presented anything that isn't commonly known from the newspapers and that anyone could look up and have a summary of the entire work in less than five minutes.  :waiting:
