I don't know if this would still be the ultimate URL or not... you'd have to ask Cherie about that.
Putting aside using the domain name for a moment, our official site name would remain as Temporary_Bookrelay unless we rename the board, which is possible, but the old URL will NOT forward to the new URL automatically.
Now add in the bookobsessed.com. With a properly configured DNS entry--don't worry, I'm a network admin so of course it'll all be configured right
but yeah, most of the time you won't see the Temporary_Bookrelay part. Internally, to the board itself though, it'll still use it, and there may be times where you'd see it. Possibly even on search engine listings, etc.So I figure we'll change that part AFTER we've switched over to using the domain, so we've gotten everyone used to getting here using the domain. And then we can send out a bulk email to all members just to catch any stragglers and tell them of the name change in case they still have the old URL format bookmarked. And of course, I'll ask CR to change the link on the old site too.
Expect that we'll start using the domain to get here sometime this week. Some domain-related changes could take up to 24 hours to take effect, so I guess we'll officially announce it once everything is all good.

The BookObsessed.com domain has been registered and configured to point here. The forum itself will continue to use the invisionfree.com URL for the next day or so until I'm sure the DNS (domain name server) updates have propagated around the Internet.
What this means from your perspective is that even if you can successfully use the bookobsessed.com or www.bookobsessed.com URL to get here, once you start navigating around, the address field will revert back to the invisionfree.com/Temporary_Bookrelay URL. (This is a precautionary measure on the part of your network admin to ensure that things don't break for people whose ISP may not yet have gotten the name updates.)
Final step once I'm sure that the name changes are well propagated, is to change the configuration of the board so that it uses the bookobsessed.com domain internally and doesn't change back to the Invision one in the address bar while you're navigating around. Once we reach this point, I'll send a bulk email out to all members to start using the new URL, and also ask CR to update the address on the old relay site.
