Welcome to the Twelth Round of Yummy Yummy VBB on BookObsessed!
The Rules (shamelessly copied from other vbb's):
(1) I will post a list of books and the order of the box participants by the 18th of every odd month (January, March, May...).
(2) Book from any genre, except children's book (young adults are okay) are welcome in this box, if they belong to any of the following:
a. Fiction or non fiction with food words in the title (content not necessarily food related. eg. The Bean Trees; Eat, Pray, Love; Three Cups of Tea; ...)
b. Fiction with a plot around food, cooking or restaurant. eg. Promegranate Soup, Last Day at Lobster, Like Water for Chocolate and all those food murders.
c. Non fiction about food. eg. books written by Ruth Reichl or Anthony Bourdain, micro history of a food item, etc.
What are NOT welcome:
a. Textbook or manual type of books. eg. How to run a restaurant business, home brewery guide.
b. Wine or Restuarant guide eg. NY restaurant guide
c. Cookbooks, diet books.
(3) Each person may take as many books out of the box as they want; however, you must put in the same number of books (or more). This means that you may be responsible for shipping the number of books that you have put in, possibly internationally. You control how many books you can read/ship by only taking out/putting in that number of books.
(4) You have six months to mail your books that were selected by other participants. Otherwise, you have obviously too many books to read and should not be adding more to your TBR shelf. You will still be responsible for replacing books that are due for replacing.
(5) You can opt to skip your turn by not taking any books out of the box and passing the turn on to the next person.
(6) You have 48 hours from the time the person before you posts their move in the thread to make your move. However, if there is a problem (eg. No computer access, travel, illness, busy work ) just let us know and we can move you down a few slots. Otherwise, you will be bumped to the end of the list. If you don't show up at all for two rounds, you will be removed from the list; however, you are welcome to rejoin at any time.
(7) New participants are welcome and can join at any time! They will be added to the end of the list until the next shuffling.
(8) Any book that has been in the box for two rounds need to be replaced at the player's turn, before new titles can be selected.
(9) If you wish to drop out of the box, you will still be responsible for shipping the books that you put into the box, either by mailing to whoever chooses them, or to the organizer of the box. Unselected books will need to be replaced when due.
(10) The list of participants will be randomized at the start of every third round. Anyone whose slot has bumped down, either voluntarily or involuntarily, will remain in that slot till the next shuffle.
(11) Once you've taken your turn, kindly PM the next person to let them know it's his/her turn. If you can't, please say so when you post your move, so someone else can pm for you.
(12) All outstanding commitments are viewable at the Owed Books Database. Updates should be made there directly or via pm to Marlene or CdnBlueRose, the MODs. Posting in this thread doesn't guarantee an update as a vbb host does not have the capacity to do so.
Now on to the fun part!!

No soup for you! Ketchup on your reading first! However, you are required to take your leftover home and replace it with a new dish!
